Longtime anchor Denise White announces retirement

- After 40 years in broadcasting, FOX 13 News anchor Denise White says she has a lot to be thankful for as she prepares for retirement.

Denise announced Monday that her last day would be the day before Thanksgiving.

"I've had the privilege of being welcomed into your homes all these years at noon and five to bring you the important events of the day," she told viewers while breaking the news.  "I hope I've done it with credibility and professionalism."

Denise covered stories in Orlando and Miami before coming to Tampa, where she has spent more than 25 years at WTVT.  Monday, she thanked the viewers for making the FOX 13 News at 5 a consistently top-rated newscast.

"I'm proud of the part I may have played, and I'm equally as proud of the people here I've had the pleasure of working with," she added.
