Merissa Lynn

Sunshine State native Merissa Lynn joined the FOX 13 Sports team in April 2015.

Merissa came to Tampa from FOX 13's sister station in Atlanta, where she was a sports reporter and anchor. She's also worked at WOLO in Columbia, South Carolina and WJBF in Augusta, where she covered everything from high school football to The Masters.

Merissa produced countless feature stories in Augusta, including one about a girls' basketball team in Swainsboro that won the 1958 state championship and was never recognized for it. After the story aired, they were finally put down as the state champions in the record books.

Merissa is a Gator all the way! She graduated from the University of Florida, where she anchored both news and sportscasts. She was also the sports director, reporter, and photographer at WUFT, the PBS affiliate on campus. During the summers, she interned at both WFTS and WFLA in Tampa.

Merissa was born and raised in Florida, where she grew up watching her three younger brothers play soccer, baseball and lacrosse. She was a competitive figure skater for almost 10 years, and also ran track and played varsity softball in high school.

When she's not working, Merissa loves being outdoors, going on new adventures, and spending time with family and friends.
