Chip Carter to retire

- After 28 years behind the anchor desk, FOX 13 Sports Director Chip Carter has announced he plans to retire.

"I wish I could thank each and every one of you for inviting not only me but FOX 13 into your homes.  We take it as a privilege it is something we feel needs to be earned; it is never expected," he told viewers, before turning to his co-anchors. "I'm going to miss everybody here."

"This guy is a class act, let me tell you," Cynthia Smoot offered.

Chip is one of only three sports directors in WTVT's 66-year history, following in the footsteps of Salty Sol and Andy Hardy.
