Lavender Oatmeal Recipe

Lavender Oatmeal

Servings: 4

2 cup quick-cooking or old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup lavender tea buds

4 cups milk or water

4 Tbsp. brown sugar

Toppings as desired

Directions:

1. Bring milk or water to a boil with a tea bag of lavender tea. Lower heat to medium high.

2. Steep for 2 mins

3. Remove tea and add oatmeal

4. Simmer until oatmeal is soft

5. Add brown sugar and stir to dissolve

Chef's note: Our favorite topping are macerated fruits and nuts. Take 1 cup of your favorite fruit and nut combination. Add 1/.4 cup bourbon and steep for 30 mins. Heat a saute pan and add butter, add brown sugar and fruit mixture. Cook on medium until slightly thickened. Serve on top of hot oatmeal.
