Hometown USF: Good Day goes green and gold

Good Day took over the University of South Florida Friday morning!

We rocked green and gold, sported our Bull pride and spent hours highlighting some of the amazing things the campus has to offer its students and Tampa Bay area locals alike.

It all came just in time to honor the USF women's basketball team as they prepare for the NCAA tournament.

And while the university has cheerleaders, it's safe to say there is no one more proud than USF's President Judy Genshaft.

"I would love to have people from all over the Tampa Bay region come and the see the amount of research, and substance and how happy the students are. It is a phenomenal, phenomenal place," she said in a one-on-one interview with Russell Rhodes.

President Genshaft has been the leader of the herd for 15 years. In that time USF's medical and nursing schools, and public health programs have really progressed.

Another thing to note, the university has more than one campus. FOX 13's Dave Osterberg got a chance to check out the College of Marine Science on the St. Pete Campus.

And it doesn't stop there. USF is one of the 50 largest universities in the country with over 80 undergraduate majors to offer.

It goes without saying, we had a blast with the Bulls!
