TAMPA, Fla. (FOX 13) - Publix not only wants to make shopping a pleasure, but cooking as well. The grocery chain is offering cooking classes online through the Publix Aprons Cooking School.
"These online cooking classes were created to make it more convenient for people to cook at home -- not only in Florida, now we can reach the entire globe," said Chef Anthony Logerfo.
The chefs say their goal is to keep the recipes easy and affordable.
"We try to use minimal ingredients because the best recipes usually only have about four or five ingredients. You shouldn't have a laundry list of ingredients," said Logerfo.
The recipes from each online class can be interchanged.
"So you can take an entree from last month's video and serve it with a dessert from this month's video and a salad from next month's video,” Logerfo continued.
You can also make cooking a family affair.
"Our desserts are usually something that the kids can get involved in and enjoy," said Logerfo.
Participants can talk directly to the experts.
"The first night it airs, we have chefs answering your questions. So if you're cooking along or if you're planning on making the recipe and you're a little bit confused about what's going on, you can actually type in a question and we'll answer you immediately," Logerfo explained.
Best of all, you can take cooking lessons without having to leave your kitchen.
"This is for those people that like to cook that are a little bit intimidated by cooking and just to get them through a recipe really quick and easy,” Logerfo added.
