Subaru recalling Legacy and Outback models over steering issue

- About 48,500 Subaru vehicles are being recalled because of a potential steering issue, according to U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Subaru of America made the announcement Thursday that 2016-2017 Legacy and Outback models are affected by the recall and are warning that owner should not drive them until they are inspected as well as repaired if needed.

The recall covered vehicles built between February and May.

Subaru said an imperfection in the way the steering column was built may lead to the steering wheel not turning the direction of the wheels. No crashes or injuries have been reported because of this.
