Suit against Starbucks for drink portions moves forward
(FOX 13) - Have you ever gotten a latte that seems like it's mostly froth and not much coffee? Two customers out in California became so fed up, they decided to sue, and a judge says they have a case.
A U.S. district judge in San Francisco ruled a suit seeking damages against Starbucks for fraud and false advertising can move forward.
The plaintiffs say fill-to lines in pitchers used by baristas for heating milk are too low to fill Starbucks’ three offered sizes – tall, grande and venti – with the promised 12, 16 and 20 ounces of beverage.
In May, a similar suit was filed by a Chicago woman against Starbucks over how much ice was in iced coffee.
A spokeswoman for Starbucks said it was without merit because a customer can always ask for light ice.
