Toys R Us baby gear trade-in event returns

- Do you have old or potentially unsafe toys or furniture in your home?  If so, they could be worth something.

Starting today, Toys R Us and Babies R Us are starting a trade-in event to help families clear out the old and replace it with the new.  For every item brought in, you will get a 25-percent discount on a purchase of select new items.

The stores will accept toys, strollers, used cribs, car seats, beds, and more.

The purpose is to make sure everything in your home is safe.  Since the program started in 2009, the store says it has seen many items that were missing parts or damaged or that showed signs of wear and tear and were just dangerous.

Toys R Us says more than a million items have been brought into stores nationwide.

The event ends February 29.
