20 years ago, Hanson gave the world MMMBop

It’s been 20 years since Hanson released MMMBop. You remember MMMBop – it’s the song you publicly hated, but also the song you jammed to in the car, listened to on repeat in your room, and waited for on MTV’s Total Request Live.

The Hanson brothers (Zac, Isaac and Taylor), were interviewed by Vulture to mark the song’s 20th anniversary. In the interview, they said they still haven’t heard a good cover of MMMBop.

“You know why? People can’t sing the chorus right,” Isaac said. “Most of the time they syncopate it wrong.”

Who could sing it right? The brothers say Fitz and the Tantrums and Bruno Mars could probably pull it off.

Have a listen. It’s been a while, and you know you want to - https://youtu.be/NHozn0YXAeE
