Disney announces end of Main Street Electrical Parade

- Disney announced Wednesday its Main Street Electrical Parade at Magic Kingdom was coming to an end.

The announcement was made in a blog post on the Disney Parks Blog.

The final run of Walt Disney World's famous, long-running nighttime parade will take place October 9 and then travel across the country for a limited engagement at Disneyland Resort in California.

If you've never had the pleasure of witnessing the Main Street Electrical Parade, it's a staple of the nighttime Disney experience. The procession of glowing floats showcases everyone's favorite Disney characters in a half million shimmering lights synchronized to some of Disney's most iconic soundtracks.
