Big names on celebrity list for Tampa Comic Con

- Fans of all this popular culture - from super heroes, to sci-fi, to animé, and everything in between - are breaking out the best of their cosplay gear for the 2016 Tampa Bay Comic Con this weekend at the Tampa Convention Center.

The doors to Con 2016 opened at noon Friday and the event lasts until Sunday at 5 p.m.

Anyone who's been to a Comic Con event knows there are two main attractions - the costumes and the celebrities. But Con-goers aren't looking for Brad Pitt or Sandra Bullock. Con's celebrity standouts voice cartoons, take down zombies and bring fantasy to life on screens big and small.

The list of appearances is long, so we'll get to it. If you're a fan of Star Wars, Walking Dead, Marvel's Daredevil, Game of Thrones, Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings, Labyrinth, Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, and tons of animated cartoons, get ready for excitement.

Ian McDiarmid - "Star Wars" - Emperor Palpatine, the Sith Lord Darth Sidious
Norman Reedus - "Walking Dead" - Daryl Dixon
Charlie Cox and Elodie Yung - "Daredevil" - Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Elektra
Jack Gleeson - "Game of Thrones" - Joffrey Baratheon
Jenna Coleman - "Dr. Who" - Carla Oswald
Sean Astin - "Lord of the Rings" - Samwise Gamby
Ray Park - "Star Wars" - Darth Maul
Ivana Baquero - "Shannara" - Eretria

There will be some faces you may not recognize, but their voices are another story. Voice actors for all four original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Cam Clarke, Townsend Coleman, Barry Gordon and Rob Paulsen - are making appearances.

Maurice LaMarche, who voiced Brain of "Pinky and the Brain," Chief Quimby in "Inspector Gadget," Egon Spengler in "The Real Ghostbusters," multiple characters in "Futurama," and Toucan Sam of Kellogg's Froot Loops cereal commercials, will be at this year's Con.

And not last or least, Sean Schemmel, who lent his voice to Goku of the Dragon Ball franchise. For a complete list of appearances and times, visit Tampa Comic Con's celebrity schedules page at
