GOSHEN, N.Y. (FOX 13) - LEGOLAND is expanding and they want kids to have a front-row seat for its newest park in New York.
LEGOLAND New York Resort is slated to open in 2020 with more than 50 rides plus shows and more.
To showcase the new park, LEGO is looking for some enterprising young people to give outsiders an inside look at everything it will offer.
The LEGOLAND Kid Reporter Search is officially underway. LEGO says children should grab an adult and show search members why they'd make a choice to take folks on a virtual tour of the New York park.
"With a story this big, we need a team of young reporters to cover it," LEGO's website says. "If you want to join the team, grab an adult and enter our Kid Reporter Search!"
LEGO says Kid Reporters will have a ton of fun, but also have a lot of responsibilities covering the First to Play pass launch event in April. Kid Reporters will do at least five reports for LEGOLAND New York’s website and social media channels before the Resort opens.
Kid Reporters will also go to LEGOLAND New York's grand opening in 2020.
In return for all that hard work, Kid Reporters will get four annual passes to LEGOLAND New York Resort, themed clothing to wear during reports, and a commemorative, one-of-a-kind LEGO build.
LEGO says anyone who wants to be considered as a Kid Reporter should create and post a one-minute video on Facebook with the hashtag #LLNYKidReporter, showcasing why they'd be the best pick.
Videos should also be emailed to llny.kidreporter@LEGOLAND.com, with the child's name, age, location and school.
Potential Kid Reporters should be between 6-12 years old and live within 100 miles of Goshen, NY. Entries will be accepted through February 7 and winners will be announced February 28.
