After opening and operating a successful food truck, one woman decided it was time to take her passion for baking to the next level. She closed her food truck and recently opened a Carrollwood bakery, The Cake Girl.

The name is a reference to the owner of the bakery, Kristina, who is known as ‘the cake girl.’ Kristina’s passion for baking started from a young age at her home in Puerto Rico, where she used to bake for friends and family.

They liked her baking so much, they convinced her start a business. Now, The Cake Girl bakery has been open for two months and is making a splash in the Tampa area.

Located at 13713 N Dale Mabry Highway, The Cake Girl offers a wide variety of mini cupcakes, cake pops, small cakes, ice cream and creative birthday or wedding cakes.

The mini cupcakes are available every day with 16 different flavors. There are eight permanent flavors and eight flavors that rotate weekly. Some examples are cookie dough and peanut butter and jelly.

The large cakes are unique and custom-made, perfect for occasions like birthdays and weddings.

“Sometimes people just like random stuff on their cakes. So, we can decorate it anyway you want,” said Kristina.

The Cake Girl is a contestant in The Sweetest Bakery in America contest. You can vote for them here.
