ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (FOX 13) - There is a festival to celebrate Florida’s favorite pink bird. Sunken Gardens’ is hosting its annual Flamingo Festival on Sunday, March 3.
From noon to 4 p.m., there will be kids’ activities, face painting and live music. There will also be “flamosas” for the adults. And, of course, plenty of flamingos. Guests who wear pink can receive a dollar off their admission tickets.
The Sunken Gardens has been open for over a century, and is home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the area. If you venture through, you will not only meet flamingoes, but also exotic plants from around the world. In April, the attraction will host an Orchid Festival.
It’s a great place to visit year-round. For more information, head over to the Sunken Gardens’ website.
