Get a taste of 'Sparklebration'

Sparklebration is the place to be in Pasco County on Independence Day.  Everything from food-eating contests to fireworks is on the schedule in Dade City.

Charley Belcher headed out there Tuesday morning to help kick things off.   After chatting with the Plant Guy and getting a taste of Henry Lee’s BBQ, it was time to get down to business.

State Rep. Danny Burgess joined Pasco County Fair Association President Dicky Brown and Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley for a watermelon-eating contest, with Charley as the judge.

After 30 seconds of furious eating, Rep. Burgess took the trophy – even though it looked like he might lose his lunch in the process.  But all three were good sports.

“We’ve got tons of entertainment, food, watermelon eating contest, hot dogs, anything you want to do. Come to the Pasco County Fair,” Brown offered after the contest.
