Tarpon High students win Florida State Fair food contest

Charley headed to Tarpon Springs Monday morning to meet some talented culinary students.

At Tarpon Springs High School, you can find these students showing off their recipes that will be featured at this year’s Florida State Fair, which opens Thursday.

The winners of “Fair-Tastic Foods – A Unique Fair Food Contest” were chosen by members of the Florida State Fair and The Ryan Wells Foundation. This year’s winning students are Joshua Harper and Mallory Kulak from Osceola Fundamental School, and Keith Simpkins and Ryley Bohlmann from Tarpon High.

The students from Tarpon High created "Midway Meatballs," which are made up of turkey meat and seasonings include salt, pepper, coriander, and served with parsley, spicy mayo and other delicious ingredients to enhance the flavor.

The students from Osceola Fundamental School created a funnel cake sandwich.

Congratulations!
