If you are driving westbound on West Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa near Macdill, you'll see a life-sized Gorilla waving at you. That's one way of attracting business at State Vacuum of Tampa Incorporated.

"It's different when you walk in our store. We wait on you. People actually say, 'Can I help you?'." David Epstein, part owner of State Vacuum told FOX 13 News.

That's the winning formula that has kept them in business for decades.

"My dad started it 70 years ago and I've been here full time for almost 40, part time for 51 years. And Joe's been here for about 10 years."

The business was passed down to David from his father. State Vacuum will eventually be passed down to the third generation of Epstein, his son Joe.

"Love is generally not associated with vacuum cleaners. It's kinda like going to the dentist. They gotta do it, then they gotta do it. But we get great satisfaction for us," reflected David.
