Cuts, curls and color; Tiger Claw's Barbershop officially opened for business at Middleton High School in Tampa.

The student-operated, on-campus barbershop is staffed by students in the business and barbering program.

The student staff has been working on their business plan for months before coming up with the barbershop name, as well as advertisement for its grand opening.

After students learned business management and marketing skills, they then moved on to barbering techniques.

Only the students in the advanced barbering classes are allowed to work on clients.

Stephanie Grooms is the instructor and is thrilled to see her students take what they've learned in the classroom to the barbershop floor.

"As of today, our grand opening is official," Mrs. Grooms explained. "We have a full staff. Experienced students are in here this morning. We are equipped to handle any type of need that your hair might desire."

Students at faculty and Middleton are allowed free haircuts.

The general public can make appointments and choose from a wide variety of discounted salon options such as haircuts, waxing, manicures and pedicures.
