Study: Sitting for too long may hurt your heart

You might want to stand while you read about this.

A new study indicates sitting for a long period of time on a regular basis could be bad for your heart.

In the journal, “Circulation,” the study focused on proteins called troponins that are released in large amounts during heart attacks. It finds when people sit longer than ten hours of more they were more likely to have above-average levels of troponin, which can become a concern in the long term.

The American Heart Association recommends doing at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise each day.
