Power failure at Universal Studios

The Orlando Fire Department was on scene at Universal Studios for a catastrophic power failure that occurred just before 10 a.m. on Friday morning.

The power was restored at approximately 11:30 a.m.

Islands of Adventure was not affected by the power issue.

All of the rides, restaurants and operations lost power. The reason for the outage is unknown at this time.

Universal employees were able to evacuate guests out of areas and off of rides, but because of the nature of the evacuation at Transfomers and an elevator extrication at Men in Black, Universal officials called for additional help from the Orlando Police Department.
