2 surfers bit by sharks over weekend

Volusia County Beach safety officials said two men were bit by sharks in New Smyrna Beach over the weekend.
 
The first man, a 32-year-old from Port Orange was bitten on his side while surfing around 5:30 p.m., Saturday.  
 
Officials said he was bitten near the Flagler Avenue approach but was not transported to the hospital.
 
The second man, a 21-year-old from Longwood was bitten on the left foot while surfing near the jetty around 11:30 a.m., Sunday officials said.
 
Officials said the total number of shark bites has reached 14 in Volusia County this year.
