Sanford police involved in shooting, FDLE investigating

Sanford police said they were involved in a shooting that happened Friday evening.
Police said they were called to the area of Airport Boulevard and 17-92 for a report of a suspicious person that had a gun.
Police said when the officers arrived, they found a person who matched the identity of the suspicious person who was later identified as Roshad Smith.
Police said Smith fired shots at the officers when they arrived.
One of the responding officers fired back and one person was hit in the arm.  Officials said that person was taken to Central Florida Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Smith was taken into custody and was transported to the Seminole County jail where he will face a judge Sunday morning.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating.
