Dog stands guard over injured canine

- The photo of a dog standing guard over her injured friend has gone viral as social media cherishes the animal's commitment to her friend.

The image was posted Monday to the Facebook page of a no-kill animal shelter in Washington. It shows Tillie standing over a concrete wall, where her canine friend Phoebe had been trapped for a week. Nearby residents noticed Tillie wandering the neighborhood looking for help and contacted the Vashon Island Pet Protectors shelter. When animal volunteers arrived, they found Tillie back in the woods watching over her friend.

Volunteers are nursing Phoebe back to good health after being trapped in the ravine for a week.
