Va. martial arts teacher faces child abuse charge

- A martial arts instructor was arrested after police say he seriously injured a 5-year-old student.

Prince William County police said the assault happened earlier this week at the Tiger Martial Arts Academy located at 10306 Bristow Center Drive in Bristow.

The suspect, Justin Branick, 21, is accused of grabbing the victim by the ankle, throwing him over his shoulders and onto the ground, causing the boy to lose consciousness.

Another employee of the business called police, and the victim was treated at a local hospital for serious injuries.

Branick has been charged with felony child abuse.
