Who's faster than Michael Phelps? Clark Kent, of course.

But we’re not talking about Superman. Clark Kent Apuada is a 10-year-old swimmer from California and he just shattered one of Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps’ records at the far western international championship.

Clark now holds the record for the fastest 100-meter butterfly, which Phelps set back in 1995 with a time of 1:10:48.

Clark’s time: 1:09:38.

The CEO of the Salinas Aquatic center explained the gravity of Clark’s accomplishment.

“That 100 fly, he broke that record by a second which is a lot in swimming. But not only that, he beat his competition by over five seconds," Dia Rianda said.

Clark says he began swimming competitively at the age of seven, but started swimming at three.

His coach says he’s not surprised by Clark’s accomplishment.

"He's incredible. He's a musician. He's a scientist. He's an artist. He's a martial artist. He's an incredible human being. He's what I strive to achieve."

Look for Clark in the 2024 Olympics in Paris. He says it is his ultimate goal to compete in the Olympic Games.
