Newborn twin seen being embraced by brother passes away

- There is tragedy for a Florida family with twins, days after an adorable picture of the newborns captured hearts across the internet.

Mason Buchmeyer was shown embracing his brother Hawk with a big smile.

WFLX reported Hawk was born with a rare condition that caused a defect in his diaphragm. He underwent nine surgeries in his first three weeks alive.

Sadly, Hawk didn’t make it and his family is now in mourning.

Wednesday morning, a post on the Mason & Hawk Facebook page said Hawk died from the defect.

The picture was taken on Sept. 1, when Mason and Hawk were just 11 days old.

According to WFLX, it took just six days on Facebook to be shared more than 27,000 times and receive more than 3,300 comments.
