Residents, police have open conversation during peaceful protest in Uptown

- Residents held a silent protest in Uptown Charlotte Wednesday evening. The event started at the intersection of Trade and Tryon Street. 

Protesters moved the event to Charlotte-Mecklenburg headquarters around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday. Once at their building, an open conversation began between residents and police. 

Organizers requested people in attendance come in their business attire/Sunday best. 

"The larger the group, the larger the impact," organizers said. "You were saying that last night was not the way, you should be there today!"
