Dog and duck are best friends and get adopted from Garland shelter

An unlikely friendship between a dog and a duck will be able to continue.

Workers at the Garland Animal Shelter said it was pretty clear Sirence the dog and Thing Two the duck had a special bond. The two have been friends since before they arrived at the facility.

The shelter had hoped to avoid breaking the two apart and officials got their wish.

“We like it when we see any animal get adopted out, but when you have a case like this, they're bonded, we'll call 'em brothers you know, they're going home together so that's our ultimate goal and I think they'll be happy as well,” a Garland shelter worker said.

The two will be leaving the shelter to share a new life at a new home on Thursday. Volunteers said they're sad to see them go but are happy they're going together.
