Police: Man shoots and kills brother after fight over a cheeseburger

- St. Cloud Police say a man shot and killed his brother after getting into a fight over a cheeseburger.  The shooting happened late Thursday night at a home on 6th Street.

The victim's mother told police that her two adult sons, 28-year-old Nicholas Middendorf and 25-year-old Benjamin Middendorf, were arguing. Police say Benjamin shot Nicholas in the chest with a handgun, killing him.

"I can tell you that there was some sort of argument -- sadly over a cheeseburger, whether he wanted one or not," said police spokesperson Sgt. Denise Roberts. "Our hearts go out to the family and it's just a sad situation."

Benjamin Middendorf was arrested for first degree murder and is in the Osceola County Jail.
