Baby black bear spotted in College Park

- On Tuesday morning, a black bear was spotted in a College Park neighborhood up in a tree.   Orlando Police tweeted that the bear was spotted at the 1000 blocks of Bryn Mawr and Smith and 900 block of New Hampshire in College Park.

Connor Adams came home to learn that the bear had run through his backyard, scampering up the tree.  "I'm just surprised to see one in this area because it's heavily populated with people.   There's not anywhere for a bear to really stay, other than up in trees."

According to officials, the bear was a baby or juvenile.  The bear remained in the tree for hours, until contractors with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission shot the bear with a paintball.  It's not clear where the bear is now.

FWC says the bear likely has been separated from its mother and was pushed out of its habitat.  Authorities ask that if you spot the bear, to not approach it and call FWC.
