Police: Woman found sitting on sea turtle arrested

Melbourne police said they arrested a woman who was seen in photographs sitting on a sea turtle in July.
In early July, social media was flooded with pictures of two females seen sitting on the back of sea turtles, police said.  Several complaints were forwarded to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission who opened up a criminal investigation into the case.
Police said Saturday morning, they were called to a fight on Espanola Way.  During the investigation, police found 20-year-old Stephanie Moore, who had an active felony warrant issued by the FWC.
The warrant charges Moore with possession, selling or disturbing a marine turtle or nest and was positively identified as one of the women in the photographs.
Moore was arrested and booked into the Brevard County Jail where she is being held on a $2,000 bond.
