Mom of daughter with Down syndrome writes letter to doctor who suggested abortion

The story of a mother and daughter from Sanford is going viral across the internet. The mom, Courtney Baker, recently sent a letter to the doctor who insisted that she get an abortion because her baby would most likely have Down syndrome.

The doctor told her that her and the baby's quality of life would not be good, but 15 months later, life can not be imagined without beautiful baby Emersyn.

The letter to the doctor that has captured the heart of the nation says in part, "I'm sad you were so very wrong to say a baby with Down syndrome would decrease our quality of life. And I'm heartbroken you might have said that to a mommy even today. But I'm mostly sad you'll never have the privilege of knowing my daughter, Emersyn. "

Courtney and Emersyn Baker made a stop to Good Day Orlando Thursday morning as the mother explains her reasoning behind the letter in the video above.
