Reports: Child dies after being left in hot car in Miami

SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. - A child has died after being left in a car in Southwest Miami-Dade County according to police reports obtained by WSVN News 7.

Initial reports indicate the one-year-old child was left in the car in a strip mall parking lot by his mother.

Police began investigating the scene near Bird Road and 97th Avenue Wednesday around 3:30 p.m. 

The child was transported to Kendall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not said yet if any charges will be filed.
