Small plane crashes into water off south Florida beach

A small plane crashed into the water near Haulover Beach in south Florida Tuesday.

The Piper P-A-28 crashed with two people inside and was shown on video completely submerged in the water.

WSVN reports two people were onboard and rescued by Ocean Rescue swimmers. They are said to be in good condition and are now being treated by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Witnesses told WSVN that the pair were able to get out of the plane after it went into the water and lifeguards were able to swim out and grab them within seconds. One of the victims suffered a bloody nose and the other had a bandaged hand.

The F-A-A and the NTSB are investigating.
