VIDEO: Shark swimming close to shore of Florida beach

- A Florida man decided to rethink his swimming plans when he spotted a shark swimming close to the shoreline early Thursday morning.

Shawn Spear decided instead to shoot video of the close encounter. The shark was swimming in the shallow waters of Mickler's Landing in Ponte Vedra. That's in St. John's County.

The shark appears to be swimming in knee-deep water at first, then moves in closer to very shallow water.

A family member said Spear moved to Florida a year ago and frequents that beach, but this is his first shark spotting (so far.)
