Feeding the hungry with extreme couponing

- All Lauren Puryear needs to make a difference in the world is a pair of scissors and a stack of Sunday ads.  She’s feeding the needy- thanks to her coupon clipping savvy.

You’ve seen extreme couponers work the system to stock their shelves with detergent and ketchup. Lauren is clipping for her organization For the Love of Others.

When she couldn’t afford to give as much as she wanted, she tried to find ways to be thrifty.

“When I realized that I was able to get food for free- or close to free,” Puryear explained. “I just knew that was going to be my golden ticket.”

Now she’s all in. Puryear uses coupons and the Sunday circulars to find the absolute best deals. Her goal is to feed 30,000 people by her 30th birthday next September.

Puryear’s charitable spirit is setting an example for her children and her community.
