Science confirms cat owners are smarter than dog owners

- Science has confirmed what feline lovers have assumed for years: Cat owners have higher IQs than dog owners. No, the study wasn't funded by Fancy Feast or known cat lover Taylor Swift. A researcher at Carroll University administered personality and IQ tests to 600 students to determine differences between the two groups.

But don't adopt a kitten to smarten up just yet. The intelligence factor probably has less to do with the presence of a dog or a cat, and more to do with the lifestyles and personalities of the owners- personalities that closely mirrored those of their pets, as it turns out.

Cat lovers in the study were sensitive and introverted, and more likely to be open-minded and non-conformist. The dog lovers were found to be energetic, outgoing, and more likely to follow rules obediently.

Researchers explained that perhaps dog people were more likely to be outside, talking to people, bringing along their adorable pup. Maybe if you're a more introverted cat owner,  you're at home reading or studying.

So the stereotypes are confirmed. We wonder if “the cats” will feel superior after hearing the study’s findings about intelligence. Certainly “the dogs” will think they’re being smug.  Play nice out there, you guys!
