$1 million marijuana grow discovered in Valrico

One million dollar's worth of pot was found during at a grow house in Valrico, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. 

The alleged grow operation was found January 16 when HCSO detectives executed a search warrant at 1513 Kyle Court in Valrico.  

Investigators say the building had two rooms converted for "the sole purpose of cultivating marijuana," with 41 mature plants weighing 522 pounds. HCSO said the crop has a street value of more than $1 million.

Tampa Electric Company (TECO) was called and workers found an illegal electrical connection, which siphoned off almost $8,000 in electricity, according to HCSO.

Detectives arrested Victor Perez Madrigal, 49, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, trafficking in marijuana (25 to 2000 pounds), possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, third-degree grand theft, and maintaining a place for drug use.
