Search for shooting suspect in Lakeland

- Lakeland police are looking for a gunman after a shooting put several schools on lockdown.

Lakeland Christian, Southwest Middle, Dixieland Elementary, and Southwest Elementary were placed on heightened security while police searched for a shooting suspect nearby.

They say the shooting happened outside of a house on Marietta Street after a fight.  One person was shot multiple times; the suspect took off.  He was described as a black male with short hair, wearing a red shorts and a white t-shirt.  

The victim was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
