Florida's python challenge is over, and wildlife officials say it was a big success.  Snake hunters caught 106 pythons.

Bill Booth's team turned out to be the big winners, taking the titles for longest and most snakes caught.

Booth won the grand prize of $3,000 for catching a 15-foot python.  It weighed in at nearly 125 pounds.

Altogether, the team wrangled up 33 pythons.  That got them the top prize of $5,000.

Not only did the hunt remove a lot of invasive snakes, FWC says it also raised awareness.

More than 1,000 people from 29 different states took part in the hunt.
