TPD: Bicyclist killed in hit-and-run

- A man on a bicycle died after being hit by a vehicle, whose driver fled the scene in Tampa Saturday night.

The Tampa Police Department said it happened around 9:30 at Interbay Boulevard and 6th Street South.

Interbay Blvd. was shut down in both directions - at MacDill to the east and Sheridan Road to the west. North and South MacDill were open.

The Traffic Homicide team was investigating the scene.

This article was updated to reflect TPD's correction to the location - replacing MacDill Avenue South with 6th Street South.
