1,000 foot water slide to take over downtown Tampa

- A 1,000 foot water slide that’s touring the country will soon be brightening the city streets in downtown Tampa.

Slide the City has plans to take over North Boulevard and West Palm Avenue- just for the day –on Saturday, May 14.

Locals who attend will have the opportunity to slip and slide down three city blocks on inner tubes.

The company says it will be a family-friendly event complete with live music, food, drinks, water and of course- “the biggest slip and slide ever to hit asphalt.” (Don’t worry; they say it’s padded!)

Costs range between $10 and $20 for a single slide, depending on when you sign up. Triple slider pricing is between $30 and $45, and then there’s the “Ultimate Slider” package, which allows unlimited sliding, that costs between $50 and $65.

Depending on the package you choose, your tube may not be included in the cost.

This same event was supposed to make a stop in Lakeland last year, but ended up being canceled.
