Video showing case of road rage caught by HCSO chopper

- Florida ranks number one in the country for aggressive driving-related incidents, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff's officials, who are urging people to take the high road when it comes to road rage.

In a recently released Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office video, a driver is seen tailgating and aggressively driving and taunting the driver of another car on I-75, and the fearful driver called 911. "He's swerving all over the road, he's trying to cut me off," said the caller to the 911 operator. "I'm getting really scared," he said.

The incident ended peacefully with one of the cars finally pulling off the interstate, but HCSO Maj. Chad Chronister said the department gets tons of phone calls about these incidents, which often escalate into someone pulling a gun.

Maj. Chronister urges Bay Area drivers to take the high road and stop the situation from escalating. "If you lay on the horn, you know you're going to incense someone," he said. "That's going to make it worse."

He also said it's unusual for deputies to arrive while the road rage is still occurring, but this time the sheriff's office helicopter managed to catch it all on video.

The suspect was cited for reckless driving.
