Man shot and killed outside St. Pete barber shop

- Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened outside a barber shop in St. Petersburg.

It happened after 7:00 p.m. Monday at the ATL Barber Shop on 18th Avenue South.

Detectives say 31-year-old Dontavion Fleming was shot after getting a haircut.

“As he walked out of the door, a man came up and shot him and he died shortly after,” said Yolanda Fernandez with the St. Petersburg Police Department.

The gunman took off in an unknown vehicle.

Police are interviewing several witnesses, including some children, who saw the shooting.
