Police: Tire thief may have had prosthetic leg

- Police are hoping you can help them track down a tire thief who may have an unusual identifying feature.

According to Clearwater police, a man swiped a tractor tire from the Anytime Fitness location on Highland Avenue back on May 26.  They say he cut through a cable lock and rolled the giant tire to his car, then left.

Police describe the man as a white male, 25 to 30 years old, weighing about 180 pounds and standing 5-foot-11. He was wearing a red t-shirt and black shorts.

Police also say he appears to have a prosthetic left leg.

If caught, he'll face a grand theft charge.

Anyone with information is asked to call Clearwater police at 727-562-4242 or Crime Stoppers of Pinellas County at 1-800-873-TIPS.
