WATCH: Beachgoers find themselves in the middle of rays

- Beachgoers at Coquina Beach found themselves caught in the middle of a huge "fever," or group, of rays Tuesday afternoon.

Several of the beachgoers caught the whole experience on video showing hundreds of rays passing by in the crystal clear water as the awestruck swimmers just stood there watching.

"Look how close these are!" Racheal Jones is heard saying on video. "That was seriously one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen," she said. Renita Garcia, who was with with Jones, videotaping, was born and raised in Bradenton, and says she has never seen anything like this. "It was a great experience," she said.

The video rolls for at least five minutes with the rays still passing by in a massive group. 

Last week, SkyFOX spotted a massive fever of rays swimming in Tampa Bay. Florida Fish and Wildlife officials say they appear to be cownose rays that migrate in large groups this time of year.
