Cooker on trailer stolen from Polk group that helps elderly

- A non-profit organization is asking for help after its large cooker was stolen over the weekend.

Volunteers in Service to the Elderly (VISTE) is an organization that helps the elderly community in Polk County.

The group said someone broke into their gated and locked parking lot to steal the cooker, which is also a meat smoker.

The cooker was on a trailer and VISTE said the thief came prepared with a towing vehicle.

If anyone has information about the case, they're asked to contact the Lakeland Police Department.
