John Cena puts Ybor on the map for diversity in PSA

- WWE Superstar John Cena is taking on a foe of a different kind in a new Ad Council public service announcement, in which he wrestles divisiveness and stereotypes in the American culture.

The video has been widely shared on social media and not only spreads a message of inclusiveness, but gives a day-to-day look at the diversity of Tampa's own Ybor City.

"We know that labels don't devalue us, they help define us," Cena says to the camera while walking through the Ybor streets.

The three-minute video titled "We Are America" was filmed in Ybor City, which is known for its rich history and diversity.

"If ever there was a place that was diverse before diversity was cool, it was Ybor City," said Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn.

In the video, Cena asks viewers to picture the average American,  then goes on to show just how different that image truly is for every American.

"I think it was well-made, beautifully executed," said Steven Stamberger, manager of Tabanero Cigars.

He said Cena's message is on-point.

"It's the right message and it's been the right message for a long time, only now it's developed a voice," he told FOX 13 News.

The video closes with Cena reminding viewers not to judge someone based on labels.

"Remember that to love America is to love all Americans, because love has no labels," Cena said.

The video was posted online on July 4.  It has already surpassed 900,000 views.
