Teen arrested for toddler's rape at daycare

- Deputies in Pasco County say a 16-year-old raped a 3-year-old girl at an in-home daycare owned by his mother.

It happened back in June at Thomas-Gibson Day Care in Trinity, investigators say.  According to the arrest records, the toddler told detectives that the teenager forced his penis into her mouth during naptime at the daycare when no other adults were present in the room, and that it had happened multiple times.

When questioned, the teen allegedly admitted exposing himself in front of the children but denied any assault.

Detectives, though, said they had enough evidence to charge him with sexual battery.  He was arrested Tuesday.

"We are investigating whether there are more victims but none confirmed at this time," a sheriff's office spokesperson added.

The parents of the alleged victim spoke out through their attorney.

"We are pleased with the swift response of the authorities and are focused on the healing of our daughters," their statement said.
